Implementation Consultant (SaaS & Workflow Solutions)

  • Johannesburg, South Africa
  • Full-Time
  • Remote
  • 28,000-31,000 ZAR / Month

Job Description:

Implementation Consultant (SaaS & Workflow Solutions)

Location: Remote (South Africa, Johannesburg preferred)

Salary: R28,000 to R31,000 p.m. starting base + Annual Reviews

Hardware: MacBook Pro provided

Working Hours: Flexible 8-hour workday (scheduled between 08h00 and 18h00 SAST)

Most 2-to-3-year consulting roles keep you stuck in execution mode with zero space to upskill. This role is structured differently.

We're hiring an Implementation Consultant for a fast-growing SaaS systems partner servicing clients across the UK and Europe. If you have a background in data, finance, or business systems and want international exposure without working 12-hour days, here is what is actually on the table for you.

What is in it for you

  • Guaranteed 20% Upskilling Time: You get one full day every single week dedicated entirely to learning, testing tools, and getting certified. If a client go-live falls on your learning day, that day is credited back to you to use later.
  • Build-Based Career & Salary Progression: You will not be waiting around for arbitrary multi-year promotion cycles. Seniority here is measured on the volume and complexity of builds you complete. Because the client pipeline is full, your pathway from Implementation Consultant to Solution Engineer, Senior Solution Engineer, and Solution Architect is directly in your hands.
  • International Experience: You will design operational workflows and automation systems for UK and European businesses, gaining transferrable experience across the global SaaS landscape.
  • Structured Onboarding: You receive three months of structured platform training to master the core stack before managing full client implementations.

What you will do

You will bridge the gap between business operations and technical software builds:

  • Run discovery sessions with international clients to identify operational bottlenecks.
  • Design and configure custom workflows, interactive dashboards, and automations using platforms like monday.com, Make, and Aircall.
  • Train client teams asynchronously using Loom videos as well as live remote sessions.
  • Document system architectures and contribute to internal knowledge bases.

Who this is for

We want analytical, systems-minded thinkers who understand how businesses run. This is not a dev role.

  • Background: BCom graduates (Commerce, Business, Statistics) or professionals with 2 to 3 years of experience as financial analysts, data architects, or workflow freelancers.
  • Business Logic: You understand core business operations (for example, how a closed deal triggers invoicing, capacity planning, and project delivery).
  • Systems Familiarity: Hands-on exposure to tools like Airtable, ClickUp, monday.com, or standard CRMs/ERPs.
  • Communication: Clear, confident spoken and written English for client-facing workshops.

How the hiring process works

  1. Initial Screening: A conversation with Badger & Bird Talent to discuss your goals and alignment.
  2. Practical Case Study (2-Hour Time Limit): A practical exercise to evaluate your logic and prioritization under realistic time constraints. We do not expect a flawless build in two hours; we want to see your reasoning and how you structure solutions. Using AI tools during the test is fully allowed.
  3. Final Decision.
